Favourable crop condition recorded in mid-to-late JuneJune 30, 2020 During the monitoring period from June 9th -24th, 2020, the harvest stage of winter Wheat and sowing of Maize was concluded in North-China. Meanwhile, early Rice has entered a mature stage. Sowing of second Rice was ongoing in lower Yangtze Basin. Agro-climatic conditions were favourable in the main grain production areas in 2020. Most provinces had abundant rainfall, which is conducive to the early growth of Maize. However, the continuous rainfall in June adversely affected the growth of crops in the provinces of Yunnan, Hunan, Guangdong, Hainan. Compared with the 5YA, favourable crop condition recorded in Northwest China, while slightly below average crop condition was observed in Northeast. In addition, crop condition in other production areas is close to or better than the 5YA.
